Scott is outlined by the Minnesota River in the Minnesota River Valley, a 332-mile tributary of the Mississippi River. Over the years — especially in the previous decade or so— our communities have grown leaps and bounds, and we’re proud of how we come together to celebrate, collaborate, and create a well-loved place to call home. We’ve gathered up a few of our great places, so please, make yourself at home.
Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community
First inhabited by the Mdewakanton and Wahpeton Santee Sioux (Dakota) Indians, Scott is home to the sovereign Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux.
Small-town charm positioned in a rolling riverbank landscape between the Twin Cities and Mankato.
Elko New Market
Living the quiet life in the fastest growing MN city in the past decade, just a hop and a couple of skips south of the Twin Cities metro.
Tucked into the wooded bluffs and rolling hills with nearly 100 acres of park space, not to mention home to the Jordan Brewers.
A quaint downtown with shops galore and the Farmhouse Market, an innovative 24/7 grocery store, make this community shine bright.
55 parks and home to Scott’s most-known body of water, and home to our largest employer, Mystic Lake.
15,000 people pop by Dan Patch Days every year, hosted by the city that grew from 4,000 to 29,000 in less than 2 decades.
Farmers Market? Music and entertainment? Yep, check the boxes, as well as a great place to stroll downtown and chat with your neighbors.
Scott’s townships and unincorporated communities round out the places within the county. As you see, our mix of communities includes vibrant personality and a blend of neighborhoods have a knack for balancing suburban and rural vibes (and so many backroads to explore!).
