What is CareerForce?

CareerForce made up of private, public, and non-profit organizations committed to providing development and talent resource for Minnesota job seekers and employers.

  • CareerForce offers employers resources to help attract, develop, and retain talent.

What resources are available?

All CareerForce services and resources are free to the public. Provided are computers, a copier, printer, and fax machine, all available for use. Additionally, education, trainings and information on current job openings are provided. CareerForce hosts hiring events where employers can offer immediate offers to qualified candidates.

What programs are offered?

Dislocated Worker and Adult programs – These programs offer career/job support and resources as well as financial support for training opportunities for out of work or laid off participants.

  • Work one-on-one with an Employment Counselor to create a job search plan and choose appropriate training to enhance your skills.
  • Update your resumes, improve interviewing skills, and learn how to effectively network.
  • Gain additional knowledge and support through all of the program’s free resources.

Diversionary Worker Program – This program offers short term public assistance benefits and work support that assist people in finding employment. Program participants will meet with an Employment Counselor to develop an employment plan to help find employment quickly.

MFIP Program – This program includes cash and food benefits for participants. Participants will work one-on-one with an Employment Counselor to help identify training and/or employment goals that lead to self-sufficiency.

SNAP ET Program – This program provides food support and assistance in finding employment.

Youth Program -This program provides Scott County residents (ages 17-24) paid work experience and tuition assistance for short term or post-secondary training. Participants are assigned an Employment Counselor for one-on-one assistance with job readiness and career exploration.

Senior Community Service Employment Program
This program provides residents 55 or older part-time community service-based employment. Participants have opportunities to improve job skills and gain work experience that enhance future opportunities for employment. Participants also have the opportunity for career exploration, resume assistance, assessments, and short-term job-related training.
